** Senior Mechanical Engineer | Manhattan, NY
** IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in a brand-new Manhattan office, to lead the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare-focused mechanical systems—including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. In this role, you’ll collaborate with clients and multi-discipline teams to develop code-compliant, high-performing solutions that support safe, efficient, and resilient facilities.
** Principal Responsibilities
*** Lead the design of healthcare mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) from concept through construction
* Serve as a technical leader for project execution, coordination, and delivery across internal and external stakeholders
* Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
* Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes, improve constructability, and support integrated design outcomes
* Support client communication and technical decision-making throughout project development
* Guide quality control efforts and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and IMEG practices
* Provide construction administration support, including responses to RFIs/submittals and field observations as needed
* Mentor and support the growth of engineering staff through technical guidance and project leadership
** Required Qualifications and Skills
*** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Professional Engineer (PE) license
* 14+ years of experience
* Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
* Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
* Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
* Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
* Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight stays    This position is not eligible for sponsorship
