Relay Protection & Controls Engineer

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, test, implement, and maintain
  protection and control (P&C) system standards
  , including philosophy documents,
  relay setting guides
  , templates
  , drawings
  , and test procedures.
• Research industry best practices and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement of established P&C standards
  .
• Perform engineering analyses, evaluate new hardware and software solutions, and support the deployment of protection system upgrade initiatives.
• Support PRSI department efforts by implementing new strategies, initiatives, and processes to enhance the design, operation, and reliability of P&C systems.
• Provide technical support protection system asset management and remote monitoring and analytics of substation P&C devices
  .
• Oversee vendor activities and perform technical reviews to ensure contractor work meets engineering standards and departmental requirements.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to implement relay protection standards, obtain feedback, and manage expectations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 4 years of engineering work experience
  . A minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required. or
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines
  , required.
• Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
• Proficiency in using PSS/E CAPE, Aspen or equivalent fault study analysis tools
  , required
  .
• Experience with various microprocessor relay platforms and software
  , required.
• Ability to write engineering specifications and standards
  , preferred.
