Hatfield Group Engineering works with architects and building owners to deliver ambitious, sustainable, and enduring buildings through design-driven engineering. Our projects range from labs to museums to multi-family residential buildings. The Structural Project Engineer will work directly with our Principals, clients and our team, running projects from design through CA. Our office is near Penn Station and we offer Structural Engineering, Facade Engineering, and MEP/FP Engineering services.
Therole
This role is for a Structural Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience designing concrete, steel and timber structures. The preferred candidate is one who has a PE license, experience managing projects and coordinating with clients. Your primary focus will be performing calculations, marking up drawings, preparing drawing sets for issues, coordination with clients and overseeing the submittal review team.
Your work involves understanding the NYC Building Code and applying reference standards to your work. The range of responsibilities and opportunities for this position is limited only by the drive of the successful candidate, this role has plenty of upward growth potential.
You will use analysis tools like SAP, TEDS, ETABS and more to prepare calculations and size members for a variety of projects. We promise to keep you challenged and never bored. Here are some regular tasks you may undertake:
- Develop high quality and organized calculations
- Design beams, columns, lateral systems and foundations for concrete, steel and timber structures
- Coordinate directly with clients
- Manage the preparation of drawing sets for issue
- Oversee the internal team to provide support to your projects.
- +5 years of professional experience within an architectural, engineering, or construction office required
- 4 year degree in Engineering and Masters Degree required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively within small group of design professionals
- Proficiency with Revit, SAP, ETABS, RAM and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple deadlines
- An appreciation of good design and enthusiasm for sustainable design

We offer $105,000 to $150,000 based on experience.
