The Opportunity

PAE is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Plumbing Engineer II to join our team in a hybrid office environment in our New York office. This role is designed for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is ready to take on more complex design responsibilities. Working under the guidance of a Lead Engineer, you will contribute to the design of fire protection and plumbing system layouts, while sharpening your skills in technical specifications and interdisciplinary coordination.

You will play a key role in moving projects from initial design through site implementation, ensuring all deliverables meet our rigorous quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Perform AutoCAD/Revit system engineering
  • Design and plan plumbing and fire protection system design and layouts under the direction of a lead engineer
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing and fire protection
  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
  • Understand and read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications
  • Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
  • Apply building codes, industry standards and fire protection principals
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements
  • Interact with clients and other project team members
  • Support the project lead in developing options of probable construction costs
  • Contribute to site visits and prepare reports
  • Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree for discipline work or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years Plumbing Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Technical Institute training preferred
  • Knowledge of plumbing design systems and concepts, and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to others
  • Knowledge of all project phases
  • Delegation skills
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Problem solving and analysis
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Hiring Base Salary Range: $89,800-$109,700 annual
