Reporting to the Product Development Manager or Product Development Lead, you will drive the technical execution of global toys and games portfolios from concept through to full production. You will act as the technical anchor for major product lines, collaborating with large cross‑functional teams—including Design, Marketing, Quality, and Packaging—to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective products on time and on specification. This is a 12 month contract position with the possibility for renewal.
Howwill you create impact?
- Collaborate with GBU Design and Brand teams during early ideation, providing critical mechanical feasibility and product cost assessments
- Lead technical prototyping and proof‑of‑concept builds to de‑risk new toy mechanisms, physical features, and gameplay systems
- Deliver detailed component and product designs optimized for high‑volume manufacturing and assembly (DFM/A)
- Draft comprehensive physical product performance and technical specifications
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for global Manufacturing Engineering teams (in Asia, Mexico, and the EU) to ensure alignment on tooling and production details
- Integrate mechanical, material, electro‑mechanical, or mechatronic engineering expertise throughout the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle
- Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) databases to track, manage, and release key engineering deliverables
- Lead technical product review sessions, document key deliverables, and track action items to preempt development hurdles
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot project risks, coordinating with global support departments to resolve complex issues or elevate when necessary
- Research and explore emerging materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing technologies to continuously improve engineering efficiency
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Computer, or Electrical Engineering
- Professional experience in product development, hardware engineering, or manufacturing engineering
- Solid understanding of injection‑molded plastics, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering cost structures for durable consumer goods
- Demonstrated experience with CAD and PLM software to manage technical specifications, drawings, and 3D models
- Proven capacity to manage multiple product lines and engineering timelines simultaneously in a highly dynamic, fast‑paced environment
- Experience collaborating with and managing deliverables from external creative vendors, industrial designers, and cross‑functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear actionable updates for business partners
- Bonus:
Prior engineering experience within the toy or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is a strong asset

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in New York is $45 to $50 Per Hour. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
