Hatch is seeking a Port Planning Intern
. Reporting to the
Infrastructure group, you will support offices globally working from our
Brooklyn, NY
office location.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, or engineering
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Apply planning principles to provide efficient, effective, economical, and timely solutions to port planning challenges in multivariable and multidiscipline project environments
  • Conduct road, rail, and marine operations and infrastructure planning efforts in accordance with transportation planning standards, quality objectives, and client needs
  • Collect, review, and analyze a variety of planning and operational data to meet project objectives
  • Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, figures, diagrams, and models

You bring to the role:

  • Commitment to achieving planning excellence
  • Interest in the maritime industry, including global trade and supply chain trends; ocean carriers, Class I railroads, and trucking companies; and freight infrastructure and operations across a variety of modes, facilities, and commodities
  • Passion for freight transportation planning
  • Experience with ArcGIS is a plus
  • Willingness to travel to various Hatch offices, project, and supplier sites subject to project requirements
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is considered an asset

  • Perform assignments related to your sector
  • Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
  • Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
  • Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
  • Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed

Compensation:

Range: $27 – $32
