Technical Engagement Coordinator

Our client, a construction management firm working on major public infrastructure projects, seeks a Technical Engagement Coordinator to join their Community Engagement team in Manhattan.

• Compensation: $124,800–$156,000/year, based on experience
• 2 weeks PTO (accrual basis), 1 week sick leave, and 10 federal holidays
• 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match on the first 3% of contributions, plus 50 cents on the dollar for the next 2%

This role sits at the center of environmental compliance for one of NYC's largest active construction programs, coordinating between independent monitors, design-build teams, and project stakeholders across all five boroughs. You'll track compliance documentation, evaluate field reports, and help resolve issues before they become problems, all while keeping communities informed and the project on schedule. It's a role built for someone who's equally comfortable reading technical monitoring data and explaining it clearly to a room full of stakeholders.

• Tracking and managing environmental records, permits, approvals, and monitoring documentation
• Reviewing reports and field observations from Independent Environmental Monitors (IEMs) and Design-Builders to flag concerns, trends, and compliance risks
• Following up on environmental commitments and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution
• Communicating environmental issues and status updates at executive-level and project coordination meetings
• Evaluating Design-Builder environmental compliance through active field visits and observations
• Responding to non-compliance notifications and exceedances, and supporting corrective action plans
• Reviewing and approving Construction Air Monitoring Plans (CAMPs) and verifying monitoring equipment for designated projects
• Attending public meetings and community outreach events, and leading preparation of public-facing environmental materials
• Reviewing and approving Design-Builder meeting minutes for accuracy on environmental items
• Monitoring and helping draft responses to community inquiries about environmental monitoring and construction impacts

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Construction Management, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, construction oversight, or infrastructure project delivery
• 2+ years of experience reviewing environmental monitoring data (noise, dust, vibrations), compliance reports, and mitigation measures
• Knowledge of NYC environmental regulations and permitting requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical and public-facing materials
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data management systems
