As our Principal CNC Process Transformation Engineer, you orchestrate machining excellence across multiple sites—raising quality, compressing cycle times, and standardizing best practices for aerospace and defense programs.
What You’ll Own Develop, refine, and standardize CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding) across multiple locations.
Create and maintain work instructions, routers, and thorough process documentation.
Lead initiatives to reduce cycle time, cut costs, and improve yield and throughput.
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) readiness and end-to-end process validation.
Deploy automation and robotics to eliminate waste and stabilize quality.
Ensure adherence to AS9100, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support customer and regulatory audits; maintain documentation for traceability and configuration control.
Provide multi-site engineering support, traveling as needed to resolve technical and operational issues.
Partner closely with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Program Management to execute RCCA and continuous improvement.
Justify, select, and oversee installation of capital equipment (Cap Ex) aligned to business cases.
How You’ll Collaborate You will be a unifying force across sites—coaching teams, aligning tooling and process standards, and sharing best practices. You will regularly interface with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen compliance.
What You’ll Improve Cycle times and setup efficiency through methods, tooling, and program optimization.
Scrap, rework, and downtime via data-driven root cause analysis and corrective action.
Process capability and repeatability through standardization and robust validation.
About You Required Bachelor ’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related).3–7+ years in machining/manufacturing environments.
Deep knowledge of CNC machining processes and tooling.
Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
Preferred Background in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
Familiarity with AS9100 or comparable quality systems.
Lean / Six Sigma certification.
Experience supporting multi-site operations.
Measures of Success Cycle time reduction.
Lower scrap and rework rates.
On-time delivery performance.
Process standardization across sites.
Delivered cost savings.
Work Environment Blend of office and shop-floor settings with frequent interaction with production teams.
