Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join their established team in George. This position involves the design, analysis, and supervision of structural components for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and safety of structures, working closely with architects and construction teams. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong grasp of material science, and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into practical, buildable solutions, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in structural design within the Western Cape.

• Perform structural analysis and design for building projects, including foundations, frames, and facades.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction crews to resolve design challenges.
• Ensure all designs comply with national building regulations and safety standards.
• Assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or renovations.

• BEng or BSc in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP
  2000).
• Knowledge of relevant South African building codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
