Mine Maintenance Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Maintenance Engineer to oversee and enhance the operational efficiency of their mining equipment in George . This role is crucial for ensuring the uptime and reliability of heavy machinery, underground systems, and processing plants. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust maintenance strategies, managing a team of technicians, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.

The successful candidate will be proactive, possess strong leadership skills, and have a deep understanding of heavy industrial equipment maintenance within a mining context, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the operation.

• Develop, implement, and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all mining machinery and infrastructure.
• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy-duty equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure adequate stock levels for critical components.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential equipment failures and safety hazards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably within the mining industry or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven experience with preventative maintenance techniques and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, including drills, excavators, crushers, and conveyors.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
