Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC equipment under the guidance of a professional engineer. You will perform system design calculations, analyze HVAC system options with industry standards, and be familiar with relevant building codes and standards. You will work closely with senior engineers and project principals to prepare design documents, including plumbing and fire protection systems, and coordinate work with architects and engineers of other disciplines.

Your role will also involve managing personal tasks for technical accuracy and timely delivery in liaison with senior engineers.

Mechanical Engineer

• Design HVAC equipment under the guidance of a professional engineer.
• Perform system design calculations and analyze HVAC system options with industry standards.
• Familiarize with relevant building codes and standards.
• Work closely with senior engineers and project principals to prepare design documents, including plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate work with architects and engineers of other disciplines.
• Manage personal tasks for technical accuracy and timely delivery in liaison with senior engineers.

• Mechanical engineering experience
• Mechanical design experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with building design and codes
• Mechanical drafting skills
• HVAC system design and engineering
• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)
• Experience with project types such as healthcare, data centers, central plants, municipals, etc.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE Standards
• LEED certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

• E.I.T (Engineering in Training)
• P.E (Professional Engineer) - Highly preferred
• Revit experience
• Energy engineering
• Sustainable energy knowledge
• AutoCAD design skills

You will work on multiple project types, primarily within the metro area. The company offers several office outings such as fishing trips, trivia nights, happy hours, bowling nights, and a company softball team. There is an opportunity to become a partner down the line, 2% profit sharing, and help with paying for certificates. The majority of projects are within the metro area, and the firm is an A/E firm that most engineers enjoy working for.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
