Customer Service Rep, Event Manager / Planner
Manages hotel front desk duties (check‑ins, guest requests) during the night shift (approx. 11 PM‑7 AM) while also performing crucial accounting and reporting tasks, balancing daily transactions, verifying guest accounts, and preparing financial/operational reports for management. Other duties may include processing laundry.
Your Day to Day- Checks in and checks out hotel guests in a timely and professional manner; processes all payments per established procedures.
- Processes laundry, if required.
- Provides a warm atmosphere, handling transactions, offering local insights, and anticipating guest needs.
- Acknowledges IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or over the phone.
- Manages guest bookings, upsells opportunities and informs guests about ways to improve their stay.
- Handles cash and credit transactions.
- Starts every stay right by swiftly checking guests in and out – takes IDs, hands out room keys, and controls and releases safety deposit boxes.
- Stays one step ahead of guests’ needs – records and acts on preferences, and handles messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
- Serves as a trusted contact for all guests: helps with bill issues, local knowledge, and loops in management when necessary.
- Follows safety procedures, reports incidents, and wears any protective gear needed.
- Maintains professional appearance as a brand ambassador.
- Keeps abreast of daily events and activities.
- Jumps into ad‑hoc duties when colleagues need help.
- Varying shifts across a 7‑day period, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills to turn issues into opportunities.
- Fluency in the local language; additional languages welcome but not essential.
- Literacy and tech‑savvy: good grasp of reading, writing, basic math and computers.
- Flexibility: night, weekend, and holiday shifts are part of the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college/university degree a bonus.
- At least one year of front desk or guest service experience.
- Physical strength to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg), involving bending and kneeling.
The hourly rate for this role is $16.00 to $24.00.
