Purpose of RoleThe Yamaha Artist Relations Group (YARG) provides support for Yamaha Performing Artists worldwide while leveraging the Yamaha brand through artistic collaborations. We promote Yamaha as the number one music manufacturer in the world through collaboration with our internal stakeholders. Artist Relations roles impact YARG with their product, events and operational expertise.
This role supports activities within the jazz and classical music communities and requires full‑time onsite presence at Yamaha's Piano Salon in Manhattan, NY.
Key AccountabilitiesSupport artist, vendor, and stakeholders’ relationships to meet business needs.
Build brand awareness through rapport with artists.
Ensure data accuracy and maintain reporting.
Deliver timely project execution of Artist Relations activities and responsibilities.
Primary ResponsibilitiesCommunicate and collaborate with artists and internal stakeholders.
Collect and organize information for reporting.
Assist in organizing event planning.
Coordinate artist support logistics.
Survey and collect relevant artist updates including social media and PR.
Organize and maintain AR databases, processes, and procedures.
Assist with accommodations, sales, and loans made to artists.

Represent the Yamaha brand.
Customer / Artist Problem Resolution:
Gather information to provide appropriate solutions.
Event Management:
Manage face‑to‑face and virtual events that enable contact between Yamaha and potential customers.
Logistics – YCA:
Obtain, produce, and distribute materials and products appropriately.
Consultative Skills – Artist Relations:
Alleviate customer pain points and recommend products and services that meet customers’ needs.
Project Management – Non‑PMO:
Plan, organize, and manage tasks and resources to bring about successful completion of a specific project.
Relationship Building and Maintenance – Artist Relations:
Quickly connect and maintain relationships with prospective artists.

Qualifications IdealDemonstrated success delivering customer service.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Experience with spreadsheets, word processing programs, and email systems.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Travel domestically up to 25%, including nights and weekends.
Experience with musicians and vendors in a specific instrument category.
PreferredMusic business or music background, specifically in jazz or classical genres.
Bachelor’s degree in Music Business or related field.
2+ years of experience working with regional level artists.

CompensationHiring range: $28.00 – $37.00 / hr plus bonus. This range does not include the value of benefits or total earning potential over time.
