About the Part-Time Visitor Experience Attendant Role

The House Manager oversees Front of House (FOH) operations for public events at BRIC, ensuring a welcoming, accessible, and well‑organized experience for artists, audiences, and staff. This role serves as the primary FOH lead during events and works closely with Operations, Production, Security, and Box Office staff to support smooth event execution. House Managers oversee Event Security, Custodians, and Front of House (FOH).

What

You’ll Do in the Role

Front of House Operations

  • Provide on‑site FOH leadership during public programs and performances.
  • Support audience check‑in, including scanning tickets and troubleshooting entry issues.
  • Open and close the venue to the public in accordance with BRIC procedures.
  • Ensure all FOH areas are fully prepared prior to doors, including way finding, café activation, seating set‑up, coat check, and audience flow.

Staff & Security Coordination

  • Assign FOH staff and Security to entrance posts and interior locations.
  • Ensure all FOH staff understand their roles, responsibilities, and customer service expectations.
  • Coordinate staff breaks and provide coverage as needed throughout the event.

Audience Experience & Accessibility

  • Greet patrons and provide a welcoming, professional presence.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all guests.
  • Answer general audience questions and provide directions or usher guests within the venue.
  • Personally attend to ADA access needs and special seating accommodations.
  • Print in‑house collateral and distribute printed materials, such as event programs.

Policies & Reporting

  • Monitor audience behavior and enforce BRIC house rules in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Serve as the point person for FOH issues or escalations during events.
  • Distribute, write, and submit Event Summary Report following each event, documenting attendance, incidents, and notable feedback.

Collaboration & Other Duties

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Production Manager to ensure FOH readiness aligns with production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful event operations.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Prior experience in front of house, venue management, or live events strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and calm demeanor under pressure. Familiarity with ADA best practices and audience accessibility needs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the venue during events.
  • The part‑time House Manager will be responsible for other projects as assigned by their manager, the Operations Manager.

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
    • Availability to work evening hours and weekends.
    • Patron services, retail or sales experience.
    • Prior experience at live performance venues.
