Job Description: BK Flea (Dumbo) On-Site Market Manager

Background:

Brooklyn Flea & Smorgasburg operate up to 10 events every weekend each year starting in March/April, including the largest food markets in the country and the longest-running flea markets in the city. The On-Site Market Manager will oversee market operations every weekend, handling vendor setup, venue maintenance, reporting production needs, and maintaining relationships with clients and contractors, among other responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee vendor setup each morning according to the weekly layout.
• Ensure proper placement of signage each morning.
• Quickly report any market or vendor issues to the Markets Director.
• Collect feedback from vendors regarding their sales and experiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, visitors, and on-site partners.
• Complete an end-of-day report detailing incidents, issues, or future needs for efficient market operations.
• Share Instagram stories highlighting vendors and the market ambiance over the weekend, following the provided script.

Additional Responsibilities:

Due to the dynamic nature of the company and markets, additional projects may arise throughout the season, and objectives may shift. The On-Site Market Manager should be enthusiastic about participating in all activities and adaptable to new priorities, including taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

Market Schedule Overview:

• 10am - 5pm:
  Market hours.
• 5pm - 7pm:
  Load-out.
• Position runs from March 15-16 through December 21-22
• 7am - 7pm Saturdays and/or Sundays
• 1 additional paid hour during the week for online team meeting

Pay : $35 per hour.
