The Dessoff Choirs seeks an Interim Operations Manager to oversee artistic operations, concert production, and rehearsal coordination during a maternity leave. This part‑time position will support Dessoff's fall season, serving as the primary administrative liaison between artistic leadership, singers, venues, and contractors.
The Interim Operations Manager will be employed from August 13 through December 10, 2026, with paid training and onboarding taking place in August.
Reporting to the Board President and working closely with the Music Director and board leadership, the Interim Operations Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration of artistic and organizational operations. The successful candidate will coordinate and attend both rehearsals and performances, manage artist and venue logistics, and support financial processes to ensure smooth operations throughout the fall season.
Responsibilities Artistic & Production Administration- Serve as the primary administrative liaison between Dessoff and concert venues.
- Coordinate contracts and logistics for soloists, venues, instrumentalists, contractors, and other performers.
- Prepare and distribute rehearsal materials and musical scores as needed.
- Maintain and distribute season schedules, rehearsal schedules, and production timelines.
- Support the Music Director in operational planning for concerts and rehearsals.
- Attend Monday evening rehearsals, held on the Upper West Side.
- Coordinate front‑of‑house operations for concerts.
- Recruit, schedule, and manage ushers and volunteers for concerts.
- Oversee concert‑day logistics, including stage management and contractor coordination.
- Manage box office list, including complimentary, discounted, and press tickets.
- Coordinate printed programs and other concert materials.
- Maintain organizational files and records using Google Workspace and the Dessoff Dropbox.
- Respond to or route general operational inquiries.
- Work with the Treasurer to process invoices, reimbursements, and payments as necessary.
- Support continuity of organizational operations during the leave period.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience coordinating events, performances, or arts programming.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfort working independently and exercising sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Leap/Patron Manager/Salesforce and standard office software preferred.
- Experience with performing arts organizations, choirs, music ensembles, or nonprofit organizations preferred.
- Part‑time temporary position.
- Approximately 15 hours per week.
- Training and transition period in August 2026.
- Active employment from September through November 2026.
- Compensation between $25–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
