About the Series & Plot: "Shadows of the Steppe" is a gripping, atmospheric mystery that intertwines contemporary scientific obsession with the ancient, wild realm of Caucasus folklore and Nart mythology. The narrative centers on ALEX, an ambitious archaeology student, and LAYLA, a cautious researcher burdened by intense inherited visions. While excavating a forbidden kurgan in an Ossetian village, they uncover the skeletal remains of an ancient warrior woman and a dark‑gold wind instrument.

Disregarding the grave warnings, Alex takes the artifact, which acts as a cosmic seal. As Alex becomes consumed by its power, Layla is overwhelmed by horrifying visions... To avert an impending cataclysm, Layla must harness her "blood memory" and close the gate Alex breached.
