Location: New York

Our client, a well‑known nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced Temporary Events Manager to join their team for a full‑time, on‑site assignment in the Flatiron area of New York City.

Start ASAP through November 20, 202

Full‑time with occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Must be available to work event Sunday, October 4.

This role will support the planning and execution of more than 200 annual events, including research conferences, scientific meetings, workshops, and select social events. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can confidently manage multiple events from planning through execution.

What You'll
  • Manage end‑to‑end event logistics from planning through post‑event wrap‑up.
  • Coordinate travel, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation.
  • Build event websites, registration, and attendee communications in Cv.
  • Negotiate with venues, caterers, AV providers, and vendors.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, run‑of‑show documents, and event collaterals.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site contact during events.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent events while partnering with internal stakeholders.
  • Handle post‑event reconciliation, vendor payments, reimbursements, and event debris.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of event management experience.
  • Cvent experience is required.
  • Strong experience with budgets, logistics, travel coordination, and on‑site operations.
  • Experience with corporate conferences, educational, scientific, or research events preferred.
  • Self‑motivated, highly organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Note:

    This position is focused on event operations and logistics (educational events, conferences, day to day Q&A etc) not creative production, sales, or marketing events. Candidates must be available to start ASAP and work on‑site full‑time.
