Young Concert Artists, a classical music non-profit located in Manhattan, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Programs & Auditions Coordinator to support both the Programs and Auditions departments in producing YCA’s annual concert season and the internationally recognized Susan Wadsworth International Auditions.
This position plays a key role in concert production, artist services, stage management, event logistics, and administrative coordination. It also serves as a primary point of contact for more than 200 audition applicants each year. Reporting to the Director of Programs & Auditions, this role will work closely with a team of 18 full-time and one part-time staff members.

YCA presents a season of concerts in New York City and Washington, DC, produces the annual Susan Wadsworth International Auditions and Winners Concert, hosts two fundraising galas each year, holds numerous private musicales and donor events, and maintains an active education and community engagement program. Through its Artist Management Department, YCA also facilitates more than 900 performance engagements annually, including approximately 300 education and community engagement activities.

This position works closely with board members, donors, distinguished YCA alumni, prospective artists, and presenters and venues throughout New York City and Washington, DC.

Programs
- Assist in the planning and execution of YCA’s annual concert season, auditions, galas, and special events.
- Concert personnel management, coordinate artist availability, draft and issue contracts, schedule and book rehearsals, collect biographical materials, and communicate production information to artists and collaborators.
- Coordinate and share production logistics for concerts, including schedules, runs of show, stage plots, artist hospitality and other backstage operations.
- Serve as a primary production contact with YCA’s various concert venues, communicating with venue staff, stage crews, artists, piano technicians, and other vendors.
- Provide on-site event management, including backstage coordination, artist support, and troubleshooting during performances and rehearsals.
- Draft and edit concert program books, artist biographies, program notes, and other printed concert materials while coordinating with the Marketing Department to meet publication deadlines.
- Prepare and submit quarterly reports to BMI and ASCAP, maintaining accurate repertoire and performance records.
- Support the Director of Programs & Auditions with administrative projects and other initiatives as needed.
Auditions
- Serve as a primary contact for more than 200 annual audition applicants, providing timely communication regarding scheduling, repertoire requirements, application procedures, and technical questions.
- Provide on-site production and administrative support during live auditions, including registration, applicant check‑in, room setup and breakdown, jury support, and more.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain audition materials, adjudication forms, schedules, jury packets, and other internal documentation.
- Assist with recruitment efforts to promote the auditions.
- Compile audition statistics, reports, and other materials following the conclusion of the audition cycle.
- Assist with additional projects related to the auditions throughout the year.
