The Wardrobe Supervisor oversees all wardrobe operations for Radio City Music Hall and the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes. The Wardrobe Supervisor is responsible for leading the wardrobe team, ensuring the execution of all wardrobe-related activities, and maintaining the highest standards of costume presentation, maintenance, and performance support. This is a union position that works collaboratively with Costume Shop, Production, Stage Management, and other production departments to support rehearsals, performances, and special events.
Whatwill you do?
- Oversee all wardrobe operations in support of productions and live events at Radio City Music Hall and the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes.
- Supervise, schedule, and provide daily direction to the wardrobe team to ensure efficient execution of wardrobe operations.
- Ensure costumes are properly maintained, cleaned, repaired, organized, and performance‑ready throughout rehearsals, performances, special events, and venue tours.
- Manage costume tracking, inventory, and wardrobe documentation to maintain accuracy and continuity.
- Manage expense and budget tracking for all wardrobe supplies, including performer garments, costume and shoe cleaning and maintenance materials and other items as needed in support of productions.
- Coordinate appropriate staffing requirements for wardrobe department coverage based on the needs of the production including quick changes and backstage operations.
- Collaborate with Costume Shop, Production, Stage Management, Hair & Makeup, and other departments to ensure seamless production operations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies, union agreements, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot wardrobe‑related issues and implement solutions in a fast‑paced, live performance environment.
- Train, mentor, and support wardrobe staff while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of wardrobe and production operations.
- Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of dry‑cleaning services, including timely pickup and delivery of costumes to and from the building.
- Oversee all shoe fittings, coloring, maintenance and purchasing for Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, and for the Radio City Rockettes for special events and venue tours.
- Support fittings and alterations for Radio City Rockettes for special events, venue tours and other production needs.
- Swatch and purchase fabrics for new designs/refurbishments.
- Conduct fittings at Radio City Costume Shop and outside vendors.
- Work with outside vendors to guide them through new builds and make sure they have all the supplies, measurements, and documentation that is needed.
- Oversee wardrobe needs for Rockette publicity appearances and promotional engagements, collaborating with Creative and Talent Management teams to ensure costumes are performance‑ready and aligned with production standards, and coordinating appropriate wardrobe staffing to support event requirements.
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on‑site.
