Music Publishing: Catalog & Royalty Admin Internship

Payday Music Publishing is seeking a Fall Intern to support our Publishing Administration team. This internship offers hands‑on experience managing our music catalog and writer administration while providing insight into the day-to‑day operations of an independent music publisher.

You’ll assist with catalog audits, onboard new writers into our system, learn how musical works are registered, match royalty income to the correct catalogs, and research prospective signings using streaming and performance data.

• Audit existing catalogs for accuracy and identify missing or incorrect information
• Ingest new writer signings and contracts into our database
• Assist with the registration of musical works with performing rights organizations (PROs) and mechanical licensing agencies
• Match unmapped royalty income from sales and royalty reports to the appropriate writers’ catalogs
• Research prospective signings using streaming data, performance metrics, and catalog analysis

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and working with large datasets
• A genuine interest in the music business and music publishing
• A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
• Reliable and eager to learn

• Must be currently enrolled at a college or university and eligible to receive academic credit for the internship
• Available to worka minimum of three days per week

  Chelsea, New York office
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to commit to regular working hours and meet deadlines
