Psychopathia Paschalis - Seeking Light & Sound Technician
The Apotheosis Theatre Group
Astoria, NY
US
The Apotheosis Theatre Group is seeking a Lighting & Sound Technician for its upcoming production of Psychopathia Paschalis, a new dark comedy performing September 9–13 in New York City.
About the PlayPsychopathia Paschalis is a dark comedy-of-manners that satirizes the hypocrisy and dysfunction beneath an upper-middle-class American family. When the Wallace family gathers for Easter, a shocking revelation—that Nick's friend Justin is actually his lover—throws the household into chaos. As tensions erupt, an inept, self-styled detective only makes matters worse. Secrets unravel, bodies pile up, and the family's fragile civility collapses into madness.
The play blends sharp social satire with escalating farce, moving from an Easter family gathering into an increasingly chaotic and absurd evening.
The RoleWe are seeking a reliable and collaborative Lighting & Sound Technician to help execute the technical elements of the production.
The technician will work alongside the director and production team to establish and run lighting and sound cues for the show. We're looking for someone comfortable working in a small theatrical production environment who can help us create a polished and consistent technical presentation.
Responsibilities will include:

- Working with the director to establish the timing and execution of cues.
- Operating lighting and sound during performances.
- Participating in technical rehearsals to integrate cues with the actors and staging.
- Troubleshooting basic technical issues as needed.
- Maintaining consistent cue execution throughout the run.
Experience operating theatrical lighting and/or sound systems is preferred ( Especially in Chain Theatre's 65 seat main stage). Experience with both is ideal, but we are primarily looking for someone dependable, technically capable, and comfortable collaborating with a small production team.
