Podcast Producer, Overheard Sports

Doing Things Media is looking for an experienced Podcast Producer to lead the development and production of Overheard Sports podcast. This role is ideal for someone who has a proven track record producing talent-driven sports podcasts and can confidently manage every stage of the production process, from guest booking and editorial development to post-production and publishing.

The ideal candidate understands how Gen Z and young millennial audiences discover and share sports content on Instagram, Tik Tok, and You Tube. They are an exceptional communicator, highly organized, creatively driven, and comfortable balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with a deep, authentic passion for sports and pop culture.

• Lead end-to-end production of video podcasts from pre-production through final delivery, including our new Sports slate.
• Book high-profile guests and manage talent communication throughout the production process.
• Develop episode concepts, produce segments, and prepare hosts for recordings.
• Help shape new show concepts, recurring formats, and production strategies for sports audiences.
• Coordinate production logistics, including crew bookings, studio scheduling, and shoot operations.
• Manage production timelines, publishing schedules, and content calendars.
• Review edits and provide thoughtful creative feedback through final delivery.
• Partner cross-functionally with production, post-production, and social teams to maximize content performance across platforms.
• Ensure productions are executed on time, on budget, and at a consistently high creative standard.
• Foster a positive, and organized production environment for talent, athletes, and crew.

• 3–5+ years of experience producing comedy, sports, or personality-driven podcasts.
• Up to speed on sports culture, with the ability to translate sports through different lenses and audiences, pop culture, comedy, female-skewing, and beyond.
• Demonstrated experience working with high-profile talent.
• Strong editorial instincts and a deep understanding of what makes compelling conversational content.
• Experience overseeing all aspects of podcast production, including development, booking, production, post-production, and distribution.
• Experience producing sports content while maintaining thoughtful, access-aware production practices.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
• Experience producing video-first podcasts and developing content for platforms including You Tube, Tik Tok, Instagram, and other social channels.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across creative and production teams.
• Experience launching new podcasts from concept to release.
• Existing relationships with talent representatives, creators, athletes, or comedians.
• Background in unscripted digital media, sports, or comedy programming.
• Proven ability to manage talent relationships with professionalism, discretion, and confidence.

• Background in comedy, documentary, or sports entertainment.
• Passion for creating funny, thoughtful, and culturally relevant sports content for broad, crossover audiences.
