Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

The Role

Artist House is seeking an A&R to support the wider team with the discovery/signing side of potential artists, and hands-on support of the creative process once an artist is signed. This is a 50/50 role: half finding and building the case for who we sign, half helping make the records once they're in the building. This person will own identification and signing on the front end, then stay involved through recording sessions and creative development on the back end.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain artist research using streaming data, social/platform analytics, and growth-tier tracking to identify emerging talent early
  • Use and help refine internal scouting tools to monitor artist growth signals across platforms
  • Build trusted relationships with roster artists and their teams, understand their creative goals, and help shape their musical direction.
  • Help develop and select songs for release, providing thoughtful, actionable feedback on songwriting, vocal performances, and production.
  • Identify and connect artists with the right producers, songwriters, and other collaborators, and help plan and support writing and recording sessions.
  • Work alongside A&R leadership to guide records from demos through recording, mixing, and mastering
  • Help navigate creative decisions, solve problems, and move projects toward completion.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, and Operations to align artist priorities, recording timelines, and release plans.
Who You Are
  • You have 3–4 years of experience in A&R, artist development, music research, or a related role at a label, management company, publisher, agency, or similar.
  • You have strong musical taste and knowledge of the music landscape across genres, platforms, and emerging cultural trends, with an ear for compelling songs and artist potential beyond the numbers.
  • You’re an attentive listener and strong written and verbal communicator who can build trust with artists, offer constructive feedback, and work thoughtfully with different creative personalities.
  • You’re comfortable with spreadsheets and data tools; familiarity with music analytics platforms is a plus.
  • You’re organized, proactive, and able to follow through across multiple artists and projects.
  • You have a genuine desire to work directly with artists and contribute to the music making process. Hands‑on creative A&R experience is a plus, but not required.
