Principal Financial Advisory Consultant New York City and Metro Area

Role Overview

As head of Financial Advisory, you will build and lead Worley Consulting’s Financial Advisory practice—covering M&A advisory, debt financing advisory, Lender Technical Advisory (LTA), and ESG‑linked financing. You’ll originate and deliver complex, multimillion‑dollar engagements, shape market strategy, and represent Worley Consulting with C‑suite stakeholders across PE, banks, and institutional investors.

This role combines revenue generation, senior client advisory, and practice leadership. You will help build long‑term client relationships, originate and lead complex engagements, and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of Worley Consulting in one of the world’s most influential financial markets.

Key Responsibilities Revenue & Market Leadership
  • Originate and close $5M+ in annual consulting revenue through C‑level relationships across private equity, investment banking, and institutional investing.
  • Build a strong New York‑anchored deal network; expand across global financial hubs (e.g., London, Houston, Singapore).
Financial Advisory Scope (What You’ll Advise On)
  • M&A Advisory:
    Commercial and technical diligence; synergy, ops, and value‑creation planning in energy, infrastructure, refining, petrochemicals, and renewables.
  • Debt & Financing Advisory:
    Capital structure options, lender requirements, bankability, risk allocation, and financing case support.
  • Lender Technical Advisory (LTA):
    Independent technical/economic assessment for lenders, including capex/opex validation, schedule realism, construction risk, performance testing, and monitoring through COD.
  • ESG & Standards:
    Align with Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, and ESG frameworks; integrate sustainability into deal and project decisions.
Strategic Client Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑suite and Boards; translate strategies into actionable projects with clear value and risk mitigation.
  • Lead proposal strategy, win themes, budgets, and execution plans for multimillion‑dollar programs.
Project Excellence
  • Run complex, cross‑functional engagements with exceptional quality, cost control, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee development of models, scenarios, and investment cases that withstand lender and investment committee scrutiny.
Practice & People Leadership
  • Shape practice strategy, hire and mentor top talent, and build a high‑performing, multicultural team.
  • Represent Worley Consulting at industry forums (e.g., PEI, ACG New York, Energy Capital Conferences).
Thought Leadership & Innovation
  • Publish articles and whitepapers; speak at conferences to elevate the brand.
  • Develop tools, methodologies, and analytics that advance Worley’s technical and economic modeling—positioning Worley as a leader in lender advisory services.
Sustainability & Safety
  • Embed Worley’s zero‑harm vision; align client solutions with net‑zero and sustainability goals.
Qualifications Experience
  • 15+ years in Financial Advisory with expertise in M&A advisory, debt financing advisory, LTA, or ESG financing.
  • Proven top‑tier business development track record ($5M+ annual revenue).
  • Deep C‑level network in New York’s PE, investment banking, and institutional investing ecosystem.
  • Background at a top consulting firm, investment bank, or institutional advisory in senior BD roles.
  • Sector depth in Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Energy, Infrastructure, Refining, Petrochemicals, or Renewables; knowledge of energy transition financing is highly preferred.
Education & Credentials
  • MBA, BS in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent.
  • CFA/CPA a plus.
