* Hybrid Role* - VP, Finance - PE Portfolio Company - CPG Industry

I'm working with one of my favorite clients, a PE backed CPG company, to hire a VP, Finance to lead the team and further scale the business. This role reports directly the CFO and is a key member of senior leadership team.

About the role

This is the perfect role for anyone in investment banking, on a PE deal team, or has M&A Transaction Advisory experience who wants to move to a role on the operator side (or someone who has already made the transition).

The company has big name clients like Walmart, Costco, Target, etc. and you would probably recognize the product on the shelf. Annual revenue is approx. $250m.

The c-suite at the company and the PE firm are incredibly down to earth, smart, and driven - they are a top team to be a part of.

Key responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Operational Finance: Provide financial insights to optimize manufacturing operations, cost structures, and supply chain efficiencies. Partner cross functionally with sales and operations to drive margin improvement through pricing, demand modeling, costing, and productivity.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and investor presentations in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning to support business objectives and PE sponsor expectations.
  • Cash & Working Capital Management: Optimize cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures to enhance liquidity and fund growth initiatives.
  • M&A and Integration Support: Support M&A due diligence, financial modeling, and integration of acquired businesses to drive inorganic growth.
  • Risk Management & Internal Controls: Strengthen financial controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance processes to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Technology & Process Improvement: Leverage financial systems and automation to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • 8 - 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with a strong background in manufacturing, food & beverage, or CPG industries.
  • Prior or current experience in Investment Banking or in Private Equity highly preferred - would take candidates who are on the deal teams in I-banking or PE and want to move in-house to become an operator.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment, with exposure to investor reporting and value creation strategies.
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, strategic finance, and operational finance within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights and drive data‑driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including executive teams, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
  • Netsuite experience preferred.
Details
  • Schedule: flexible, 1-2 days a week in office
  • Compensation: $210k - $250k base salary + 20%-25% cash bonus + benefits and flexible for the perfect candidate!
