About the Position

As a Tax Director or Partner specializing in Professional Services & Technology at Anchin, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic tax planning and consulting services to our clients within the professional services and technology industries. You will lead a team of tax professionals, providing expertise in navigating complex tax regulations, optimizing tax structures, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

This position requires a deep understanding of industry‑specific tax issues, strong leadership skills, and the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tax strategies tailored to the unique needs and goals of professional services and technology clients. Provide proactive advice on tax implications related to business operations, transactions, and expansions.
  • Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for Corporations, Partnerships, and individual shareholders/partners.
  • Address tax issues such as sales and use tax, state nexus, and multi‑state filings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Understand clients’ businesses and industry trends to anticipate their needs and provide value‑added services.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth and development. Delegate tasks effectively to leverage team strengths and optimize efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends affecting professional services and technology companies. Apply deep technical knowledge to address complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions to clients.
  • Identify opportunities to expand our client base and grow revenue within the professional services and technology group. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance the firm’s market presence and competitiveness.
  • Assess potential tax risks and exposures for clients and develop risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that tax planning initiatives comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA required.
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on professional services and technology companies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, particularly as they apply to professional services and technology companies.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of tax professionals, including providing coaching and feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and develop innovative tax planning strategies.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in tax software and the Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation
  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $220,000 to $500,000+, based on the individual’s experience level.
