Finance & Accounting Manager

Our client, a well-known Financial Services firm in New York, is looking for an Accounting Operations Manager to join its team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on operational leadership experience to refine processes all across accounting and financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and streamline financial workflows to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability.
• Assist with monthly and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is complete and reliable.
• Partner with teams across the organization to align financial operations with strategic and operational objectives.
• Maintain adherence to applicable regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements, supporting a strong control environment.
• Deploy and maintain financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives to improve process effectiveness.
• Produce operational and performance reporting, translating data into actionable insights for leadership.
• Support audit activities by ensuring documentation is well organized and readily available for review.
• Oversee third-party vendors as needed, including coordination and negotiation of commercial terms.
• Provide guidance and development support to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing operations team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a finance- or accounting-related discipline, or equivalent professional background.
• Seven or more years of experience supporting financial operations, accounting, or comparable functions.
• Solid working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and related reporting tools.
