Role Description:
Our client is looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing global accounting team. The Accounting Manager will assist with leading the team to build and develop scalable operational accounting and month-end close processes. The Accounting Senior Manager will play a critical role in managing and actively participating in the accounting cycle all while helping design new processes that leverage technology to drive efficiency as the Company innovates and scales.
The Sr. Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and will be located in our Global HQ near Bryant Park in New York City. This role is fully on site.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex accounting processes, accounting transactions, and account reconciliations for all corporate areas during the month-end accounting close cycle
- Build and grow cross-functional relationships to collaboratively work together to resolve month end issues and solve process efficiencies
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the corporate accounting function, with a focus on process improvements, automation and analysis of the business results to support scale and growth
- Lead critical accounting projects, including being a subject matter expert for cross functional groups in areas such as consolidation and revenue recognition
- Interface with the Company’s external auditors & tax professionals on coordination of quarterly and annual audits & filings
- Support and develop continual improvement and implementation of internal controls throughout functional accounting processes
- Participate in special projects, analysis and reporting as required by management
- SEC and other regulatory reporting and capital calculations
- Interface with trading teams on daily activities and reconciliations
Requirements:
- 5-8+ years of accounting experience; experience in auditing a regulated firm, broker deal or banks
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience or knowledge of capital markets
- Experience with major ERP systems required (Netsuite and Enfusion preferred)
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail to analyze monthly financial data
- Strong process improvement skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Office and presentation software
- Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines
- Positive attitude and ability to be flexible to changing priorities, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing
- Highly organized executor with ability to juggle multiple tasks and ruthlessly prioritize in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Goal oriented, system-level thinker with the ability to recognize important nuance
- Independent operator with a sharp eye for problems that can navigate ambiguity and ask for help when needed
