Vice President, Legal Counsel - Global Investment Bank

A top-tier Global Investment Firm with a strong presence across investment banking, markets, and asset management is seeking a Vice President, Counsel to join their NYC-based legal team. This attorney will provide legal support to the business across the structuring, negotiation and execution of a wide range of products within their global markets division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate structured finance documentation, with a focus on asset‑backed lending, repurchase transactions, securitizations, and whole loan trading.
• Support the development, structuring, regulatory analysis, and launch of new products and business initiatives within structured finance.
• Serve as a key legal advisor to Business, Risk, Compliance, and other internal groups on regulatory developments and risk management relating to structured finance activities.
• Analyze, interpret, and advise on regulatory changes affecting structured finance businesses, and support their effective implementation.

Required Skills:

• J.D. and 5+ years of experience in structured finance at a top law firm or in-house within financial services.
• Deep knowledge of corporate, securities, creditor, finance, and bankruptcy law, including related legal and regulatory considerations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond proactively to evolving business and legal needs.
