Senior Financial Controller – Construction (NYC) | General Contractor
A well-established NYC-based general contractor is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead the accounting and finance function across active construction projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, and project teams, with full ownership of financial reporting, job cost & WIP, cash flow, and close.
Key Responsibilities- Lead accounting and finance for an active construction portfolio
- Own close, financial reporting, job cost & WIP, and forecasting
- Oversee cash flow, billing, AR/AP, payroll, and retainage
- Partner with PMs on margins and project performance
- Manage audits, banking, and financial controls
- Lead and develop accounting staff
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of construction accounting experience (NYC preferred)
- Strong job cost and WIP reporting experience
- Construction accounting systems experience (Quick Books preferred)
