TitleAssociate Director, Corporate Banking, U.S. Multinational Coverage – New York, NY or Houston, TX
OverviewMultinational Coverage (MNC) is a key growth pillar of Scotiabank’s refreshed strategy, delivering in‑depth, dedicated local coverage across our global footprint to deepen client relationships. This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced, dynamic team within the global Multinationals platform, partnering with Parent Account Managers (PAMs) and local product partners to manage U.S. subsidiaries corporate relationships and support U.S. senior and junior teams.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop robust client relationships and collaborate closely with product partners in Global Transaction Banking, Markets and Investment Banking in the U.S. market
- Work with the U.S. senior team, country teams, and key internal stakeholders to deliver the enhanced Multinationals value proposition
- Support PAMs and the U.S. senior team in developing and managing holistic global account plans and executing multi‑product plans to grow MNC relationships
- Champion a client‑centric culture, leveraging Scotiabank’s global and in‑country footprint to grow client revenue and primacy
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Scotiabank’s various lines of business worldwide
- Maintain knowledge of Scotiabank’s local and global platform, product capabilities, operational processes, and risk culture
- Assist in portfolio management: prepare pitch books, credit write‑ups (for non‑lending and lending products), and oversee deal execution
- Set up client portfolio frameworks, create analysis templates, conduct due diligence, and streamline operations across the MNC portfolio
- Maintain profitability metrics and analyze client engagement and share of wallet
- Mentor and support the junior team on special projects and complex transactions, providing technical structuring, negotiation, and execution expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology
- 7+ years of experience in Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Investment Banking, and/or Global Transaction Banking
- Knowledge of non‑lending products including Global Transaction Banking, Foreign Exchange, Risk Solutions, Project Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and USPP
- History of managing junior teams, demonstrating excellence individually and as part of a team
- Strong interest in collaborating across jurisdictions and product groups
- Positive, entrepreneurial, and collaborative approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
