Our client is looking for a Vice President, CRE conduit loan originator in its New York office to source, originate, structure, and close commercial real estate financings across property types for the group’s conduit CMBS business. This role collaborates with the loan underwriters, capital markets desk, credit risk management, loan transaction management, securitization bankers, loan closing team, and other stakeholders.

• Solicit new business: source and originate CRE conduit loans in accordance with market standards and the bank’s origination guidelines and risk parameters.
• Develop and maintain strong productive relationships with existing and prospective clients focusing on origination opportunities among regional and national brokerage firms, local developers, high net worth individuals, corporations and other owners and operators in real estate development and ownership.
• Prescreen opportunities prior to the sizing, underwriting and documentation process.
• Lead in negotiating loan terms and conditions with borrowers to achieve optimal terms for both the client and the bank.
• Provide independent, succinct and objective in-depth analysis of credit quality to present financing requests to senior management, loan approval committee and credit risk for approval.
• Use credit skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of a transaction and create structural features to mitigate risks.
• Work closely with:
  • the loan transaction management team to review and finalize loan documentation, ensuring compliance with market standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements;
  • the loan underwriting team to prepare initial deal summaries and preliminary loan analysis and, should the loan approval progress, finalize the model;
  • the syndicate desk, securitization bankers and capital sources to achieve superior execution on transactions;
  • all stakeholders to maintain a high level of customer service and continuously strive to meet client objectives in growing a market-leading CMBS conduit platform;
• Coordinate the processing and closing of approved loans in compliance with the company lending policies and procedures.

• BA/BS, ideally in commercial real estate finance, finance or a related field.
• Strong network of CRE industry contacts including mortgage brokers and key decision makers at potential borrowers.
• Proven track record of originating and closing a high volume of securitized CRE conduit loans.
• At least 8+ years’ experience focused on commercial real estate.
• Strong valuation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Skills in structuring and planning work, and proactively managing tasks through ebbs and flows in workload.
• Desire to work among a diverse team and be a supportive and collaborative colleague.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• The person will be expected to work from the client’s New York office on weekdays. Travel is expected.

The annual full-time base salary range for this role is $ - $. Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and market data. Certain positions may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Situs
