RepresentativeRole Overview
A leading middle-market investment bank may seek an M&A Strategy Analyst to support the strategic evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions. These roles combine financial analysis with market research, deal strategy, and client advisory work, offering candidates the chance to contribute to high-impact M&A decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct strategic analysis of potential M&A transactions, including market positioning, synergies, and growth opportunities
Build and maintain financial models (3-statement, DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution) to assess transaction feasibility and impact
Support senior bankers in preparing deal recommendations, client presentations, and investment memoranda
Perform industry research, benchmarking, and competitive landscape assessments to inform strategic decisions
Assist with due diligence, data room organization, and transaction execution
Collaborate across teams to integrate strategic insights with financial and operational analyses
Contribute to M&A planning, including identifying potential targets, assessing risks, and supporting valuation discussions
Desired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline
Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills
Financial modeling and valuation experience, with the ability to interpret results in a strategic context
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple work streams and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and organizational capabilities
Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or corporate finance is beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Fact Set)
