Portfolio Performance Specialists support investment and portfolio teams by analyzing portfolio results, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring alignment with investment objectives
. The role emphasizes performance attribution, benchmarking, and actionable insights to drive portfolio strategy and reporting improvements.
These professionals work closely with portfolio managers, strategy teams, operations, and analytics groups to maintain accurate, timely, and insightful performance data across investments and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor portfolio performance across asset classes, strategies, and individual investments
- Conduct performance attribution and variance analysis relative to benchmarks and targets
- Track risk-adjusted returns, contribution analysis, and other key performance metrics
- Support performance reporting for internal stakeholders, committees, and external investors
- Develop dashboards, models, and analytical tools for ongoing performance insights
- Identify performance trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with investment operations, accounting, and portfolio teams to ensure data accuracy
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing portfolio results and insights
- Support reviews of portfolio performance and facilitate discussions with leadership
- Assist in aligning portfolio outcomes with investment strategy and objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong interest in portfolio performance, analytics, and investment management
- Understanding of portfolio theory, risk-adjusted returns, and performance attribution
- Experience or coursework in investment analytics, portfolio reporting, or financial modeling (preferred but not required)
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or portfolio software is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple performance reporting timelines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with strong organizational skills
