Tax Underwriter

Our client is a growing and highly respected underwriting platform focused on providing innovative insurance solutions for complex transactional and tax-related risks. With continued expansion across the transactional risk and tax insurance markets, the firm is seeking a Tax Underwriter to support increased deal flow and client demand. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax insurance professional looking to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial underwriting team with strong deal exposure and long-term growth potential.

• Analyze tax risks associated with mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and tax credit investments
• Review tax opinions, diligence materials, and supporting documentation to evaluate insurable tax positions
• Collaborate with brokers, clients, and external advisors throughout the underwriting process
• Assist in structuring and negotiating tax insurance policies
• Participate in underwriting committee discussions and transaction strategy planning
• Support the development of underwriting guidelines and internal risk assessment frameworks
• Monitor regulatory and market developments impacting tax insurance

• 3+ years of experience within tax insurance underwriting, broking, or related transactional tax advisory work
• JD or LLM in Tax is strongly preferred
• Experience reviewing tax opinions and diligence materials
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical tax concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
• Interest in working in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
• Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset
