Position OverviewCapital Planning Analysts support senior finance and investment leaders by analyzing capital needs, forecasting funding requirements, and evaluating capital allocation decisions. The role blends financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic insight to ensure organizations maintain sufficient capital while optimizing returns and managing risk.
These roles often involve close collaboration with finance, treasury, risk management, investment, and executive leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze capital requirements, liquidity needs, and funding sources
- Support capital allocation decisions across business lines, investments, and initiatives
- Develop and maintain capital planning models and forecasting frameworks
- Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis on capital positions
- Monitor balance sheet metrics, leverage ratios, and capital efficiency
- Assist with long-term financial planning and strategic capital initiatives
- Evaluate the impact of market conditions, growth plans, and risk factors on capital needs
- Prepare capital planning reports and presentations for senior management
- Support regulatory, internal, and stakeholder capital reporting as applicable
- Identify opportunities to optimize capital structure and deployment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial statements, capital structure, and liquidity management
- Coursework or experience in financial modeling, corporate finance, or risk analysis preferred
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial modeling tools, SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus
- Ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in deadline-driven, cross-functional environments
- Strong interest in capital planning, corporate finance, and strategic financial analysis
