Private Capital Research Analysts support investment teams by conducting rigorous research and analysis on private capital markets and alternative investment opportunities.
The role blends financial modeling, market research, and portfolio analysis to inform investment decisions, identify promising opportunities, and evaluate fund performance. Analysts work closely with portfolio managers, deal teams, and senior leadership to produce actionable insights that drive private capital strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and analysis on private capital markets, including PE, VC, real estate, infrastructure, and credit funds
- Evaluate fund performance, portfolio composition, and investment strategies
- Build financial models, projections, and scenario analyses to support investment decisions
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for investment committees and senior management
- Monitor market trends, fundraising activity, and sector performance to identify opportunities
- Support due diligence on potential fund investments and co-investments
- Maintain data, dashboards, and analytical tools to track portfolio and fund performance
- Collaborate with investment, finance, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree or CFA preferred
- Understanding of private capital markets, fund structures, and investment vehicles
- Experience or coursework in private equity, venture capital, alternative investments, or financial modeling
- Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or other analytical tools is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Interest in private capital research, fund analysis, and investment strategy
