Tax Manager, Consumer Products Group

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Manager, Consumer Products Group, to join their Manhattan, NY office.

• Direct the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities within the consumer products industry
• Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all tax filings with applicable laws and regulations
• Administer the organization and retention of tax records and supporting documentation
• Drive tax planning initiatives and deliver strategic advisory services to consumer products clients
• Evaluate and implement tax-saving opportunities to minimize client tax liabilities
• Research complex tax issues and develop innovative, practical solutions
• Serve as the primary contact for key clients, cultivating and sustaining strong client relationships
• Assess client business operations, industry challenges, and strategic objectives to provide tailored tax guidance
• Explain complex tax matters and regulatory updates to clients in a clear and effective manner
• Guide and develop junior tax staff through mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback
• Support recruitment efforts and contribute to strengthening the team’s technical capabilities and expertise
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the consumer products industry
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in tax
• Consumer products industry
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office applications
