We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Credit Underwriter on behalf of a regional bank client with a strong Long Island presence.
Responsibilities- Analyze commercial loan requests, including C&I, owner-occupied CRE, and investment real estate
- Review financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and guarantor support
- Prepare credit memoranda and risk assessments in accordance with bank policy
- Assign risk ratings and recommend credit structures and terms
- Ensure compliance with internal credit standards and regulatory requirements
- Work with relationship managers, credit administration, and loan operations
- Monitor existing credits, including annual reviews and covenant compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience
- Knowledge of commercial banking products and credit analysis
- Ability to interpret financial statements and loan documentation
- Familiarity with regional bank credit policies and procedures
