Fund Research Associates support investment and research teams by conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of funds, strategies, and asset managers. The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and monitoring investment opportunities and providing actionable insights to support investment decisions.
These roles often involve close collaboration with portfolio managers, investment analysts, risk teams, and senior leadership to provide rigorous research, performance tracking, and market intelligence.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct in-depth research on funds, strategies, and asset managers, including historical performance, risk metrics, and investment processes
Analyze financial statements, fund structures, and performance reports
Assist in the preparation of investment memos, pitch materials, and presentations for internal and client-facing use
Maintain and update databases of fund information, performance metrics, and due diligence findings
Monitor market trends, asset class developments, and emerging investment opportunities
Support portfolio monitoring, performance analysis, and risk reporting
Prepare regular and ad-hoc research reports for senior management and investment committees
Contribute to the evaluation and selection of new investment opportunities
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail
Knowledge of investment strategies, financial markets, and fund structures
Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or other analytical tools is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentations
Ability to manage multiple research projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Interest in investment research, due diligence, and portfolio management
