Redstone Commodity Search are working a global conglomerate looking to hire a Senior Base Metals Trader to join its Houston office. This is a senior front office role with full PnL responsibility across physical and derivative base metals markets, focused on expanding North American flows and driving consistent profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage a standalone base metals trading book with full PnL responsibility
- Originate and execute physical and paper transactions across North American and international markets
- Develop strategic relationships with producers, recyclers, consumers and industrial end users
- Structure supply and offtake agreements while optimising logistics, storage and financing
- Work closely with risk, operations and finance to ensure robust governance and accurate performance reporting
- Minimum eight years of base metals trading experience within a reputable trading house, producer or merchant
- Demonstrated track record of generating consistent PnL across market cycles
- Strong relationships across US producers, scrap suppliers and industrial consumers
- Deep understanding of LME and CME instruments, hedging strategies and basis risk management
- Commercially driven with the ability to operate autonomously within a defined risk framework
