Aviation Counsel

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and strongly backed aviation finance platform. The successful candidate will lead all legal functions while supporting the team throughout the documentation phase of aviation transactions, providing legal & structuring advice and managing contractual negotiation, execution and closing activities.

• Contribute to internal deal teams on aviation financing transactions, providing in‑house advice and expertise throughout the transaction cycle from term sheet to closing.
• Work with external legal counsel in preparing, drafting and negotiating documents relating to aviation lending transactions, including coordinating external input and advice and liaising directly with the customer or counter party.
• Consolidate and coordinate ongoing aviation investment and deal level activity
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to deliver seamless, efficient and well‑controlled services
• Support process improvement and automation
• Coordinate with and support the lending team for transaction post‑closing and ongoing contract administration matters, including development of process improvements.
• Work closely with tax and middle office functions on transaction structuring and generally help lead coordination among internal stakeholders.
• Entity creation and ongoing management and maintenance of special purpose entities required for lending transactions and related ongoing management and maintenance of structure charts for each transaction.
• Assisting with counter party know your customer (KYC) inquiries.
• Additional work as required to assist with transaction management matters arising, including close coordination with other functional teams.

• Minimum 6 years of applicable legal or transaction management experience in aircraft leasing or lending, and/or private credit background in aviation
• Proactive mindset and self‑motivated. Comfortable managing a varied workload independently and handling multiple transactions with tight closing timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively lead/participate in deal teams and handle external negotiations and relationships.
• Willing and able to work hard and smart in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple deadlines/stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills
• Team player with excellent collaboration mindset and willingness to perform tasks necessary to achieve common goals
• Details orientated, but with a commonsense approach to problem solving and issues management.
• Comfort with a dynamic environment and willingness to be a driver and adopter of change
• Exceptional Excel skills as well as proficiency across all Microsoft Office products
