Role Overview

A leading investment bank, financial advisory firm, or corporate finance group may seek a Financial Scenario Analyst to support financial forecasting, scenario modeling, stress testing, and strategic decision-making
. These roles are ideal for candidates interested in forward-looking analysis
, macro- and micro-driven modeling, and translating uncertainty into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain financial scenario models incorporating multiple economic, operational, and market assumptions
  • Perform sensitivity, downside, upside, and stress-test analyses across revenue, cash flow, leverage, and valuation outcomes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning exercises for transactions or strategic initiatives
  • Analyze the impact of macroeconomic variables (interest rates, inflation, FX, commodity prices) on financial performance
  • Assist in valuation modeling (DCF, scenario-weighted outcomes, probability-adjusted returns)
  • Prepare scenario summaries, dashboards, and presentation materials for senior management and clients
  • Collaborate with investment bankers, corporate finance teams, and strategy professionals on deal and planning workflows
  • Support risk assessment and decision-support analyses for M&A, capital structure, and investment decisions
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Strong foundation in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis
  • High proficiency in Excel
    ; experience with financial modeling add-ins or analytical tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate assumptions into clear financial implications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple analyses simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, corporate finance, FP&A, consulting, risk, or analytics is beneficial
