Payroll Specialist

NYC based Savings Bank seeks a Payroll Accountant to join their Team!

• Process bi-weekly payroll:
  Reviews timecards, rate changes, and process payroll. Ensures required signatures are obtained, completed and posted to GL. Updates and maintains payroll files and database to reflect personnel payroll changes.
• Calculates and maintains Loan Officers Commissions and process Branch incentives
• Assist employees, timekeepers and supervisors with system training, payroll issues, and request for payroll information.
• Research payroll issues/discrepancies, and processes necessary corrections. Comply with regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll.
• Prepares and files bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Imports and exports reports from the accounting and payroll computer programs for processing. Reconciles assigned accounts.
• Assist payroll related audits
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations. Research discrepancies and makes necessary corrections as needed
• Prepare FRB and other cash accounts reconciliations
• Prepares investment and negotiable CDs accounting and reporting.
• Prepares investment and negotiable CDs transactions such as purchases, sales, payments, market value adjustments and the monthly investment portfolio reconciliation process.
• Assist in month end closing, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Assist internal & external audit and regulatory examination preparation.
