We are currently partnered with a top Real Estate Investment management firm looking to expand their real estate direct lending business by bringing on an Associate to join the team. This firm is known for its global presence and diversified investments within real estate.
In this role, you'll focus on originating, analyzing, and executing private credit investments in real estate, working closely with senior originators professionals throughout the transaction lifecycle. You'll be highly involved in the diligence process, do the financial modeling, make investment recommendations, present to the investment committee, and execute on green lit transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Support the origination of real estate private credit opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and underwriting, including cash flow modeling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario testing.
- Perform market research and due diligence, assessing credit risk, asset valuation, and structural protections.
- Prepare detailed investment memos and recommendations for senior management and the investment committee.
- Actively participate in investment committee presentations, articulating key risks, mitigants, and return profiles.
- Assist in transaction execution, including term sheet negotiations, structuring, and closing processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, tax, and asset management teams.
- 3-5 years of experience in real estate private credit, investment banking, or real estate finance.
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools.
- Strong understanding of credit underwriting, real estate asset classes, and capital structures.
- Experience in structuring debt and preferred equity transactions is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
- A self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field; CFA or MBA is a plus.
