The Sr. Staff Accountant supports the month-end close process, account reconciliations, and internal controls for a dynamic business unit. This role reports to the Sr. Finance Manager and partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Legal, Finance, and third-party vendors.
This is an 80% Accounting / 20% Finance role with a clear growth path. Beyond executing the close, we're looking for someone who wants to understand why entries are made, how budgeting and forecasting connect to monthly reporting, and who their audience is when communicating results.
- Execute month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and workpaper documentation
- Manage capitalized labor processes including tracking assets in development, recently launched assets, and fully amortized assets
- Prepare and analyze variance reports, investigating anomalies and communicating findings to stakeholders
- Support cash planning and forecasting activities
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, offshore AP/AR teams, and staffing agencies
- Assist with quarterly and year-end audit requests
- Respond to ad-hoc requests across Finance, HR, Legal, and Business teams
- 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience; public/private mix a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Experience with capitalized labor programs and fixed asset accounting preferred
- Proficiency in SAP, Blackline, Concur, ADP, and/or Workday preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivots)
- Strong attention to detail with a habit of self-reviewing work before submission
- Proactive communicator who flags issues early rather than waiting for problems to escalate
- Comfortable asking questions and operating in ambiguity
- Able to run independently with tasks and come to the table with solutions, not just problems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
