Senior Accountant

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to serve as the financial “operator” for an integrated real estate private equity platform. This is not a typical "close the books" role. You will sit at the intersection of capital markets and accounting, owning the execution of a sophisticated multi-entity structure including Fund, LP, GP, and Prop Co entities.

• Own the accounting for complex structures, including TIC ownership
  , SPVs, and Fund-level entities.
• Manage capital accounts, including tracking contributions, capital calls, and allocations.
• Execute high-level intercompany accounting: maintain due-to/due-from balances, accrued interest, and loan true-ups.
• Validate and calculate pref + promote waterfalls (including GP promote mechanics) ensuring they tie perfectly to legal docs.

• Provide day-one accounting setup for acquisitions, refinances, and sale events.
• Book closing statements, loan funding, reserves, and capitalized items.
• Oversee treasury operations: manage cash positioning, funding requests, and distribution wires with airtight controls.
• Act as the "Super User" for the Yardi Investment Manager module.
• Maintain data integrity for investor transactions, entity setup, and ownership mapping.
• Develop scalable processes to ensure reporting consistency between Yardi and the GL.
• Directly manage the daily output of an offshore accounting team (AP, coding, bank recs).
• Coordinate closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller to enforce a tight, audit-ready month-end close calendar.

• Produce management-ready financial packages with variance explanations and actionable insights.
• Provide clean support schedules for tax/audit providers, specifically regarding K-1s and entity roll-forwards.

• Experience: 4–7 years of accounting experience, with a significant focus on Real Estate Private Equity (REPE) or Investment Management.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fund structures, capital stacks, and investor-level allocations.
• Systems Expert: Proficient in Yardi (Investment Manager module). Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills are a must.
• Mindset: You are an "operator" who looks beyond the trial balance to understand the underlying deal structure.
• Collaborator: Comfortable managing offshore teams and communicating with senior leadership.
