The Compliance Officer plays a key role in building and scaling KAST. This is a high-ownership position where you’ll take responsibility for meaningful work from day one, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help turn ambitious goals into real-world outcomes.

• Assist the Legal Department in the gathering of documents, draft policies, and procedures required for state-level Money Transmitter License (MTL) and crypto license applications and renewals.
• Handle the day-to-day administrative requirements of the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
• Prepare responses for regulatory inquiries and act as a point of contact during state examinations.
• Act as the main point of contact for US banking partners’ compliance department. Ensure we are meeting their specific AML/KYC "flow-down" requirements.
• Continuously audit and update the US Compliance Manual and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs to reflect changes in FinCEN or state-level guidance.
• Act as the US representative for the global compliance team, ensuring that "The US Way" is understood by the teams globally.
• Provide the "final eyes" on complex US-based KYC/KYB tickets or suspicious transaction alerts escalated by the Operations team.
• Oversight and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with FinCEN.
• Translate high-level US laws into "Checklists" that the Compliance Operations team can use daily.

• 4+ years of professional experience in Compliance within the US financial services sector.
• Direct experience with Crypto-assets and/or the MTL licensing process is mandatory.
• Deep understanding of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), OFAC sanctions, and the specific nuances of US "State-by-State" money transmitter laws.
• Comfortable navigating the NMLS portal and modern compliance tech stacks (Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, etc.).
• Ability to represent the company professionally in front of US regulators and institutional partners.
