Deal Origination Analysts support investment teams by identifying, evaluating, and sourcing new investment opportunities. The role combines market research, financial analysis, and relationship management to generate high‑quality deal flow for the firm.
These roles often involve close collaboration with investment professionals, senior deal makers, legal teams, and portfolio operations groups.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct market research to identify potential investment targets, industries, and emerging trends
- Build and maintain pipelines of prospective deals, tracking opportunities and progress
- Analyze financial statements, valuations, and key performance metrics of target companies
- Support outreach to company management teams, intermediaries, and industry contacts
- Prepare investment memos, internal reports, and presentation materials for senior management
- Assist in coordinating initial diligence and data collection processes
- Maintain CRM databases and dashboards for deal tracking and reporting
- Identify and recommend strategic opportunities aligned with firm investment objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of investment analysis, financial statements, and valuation methods
- Experience or coursework in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital (preferred but not required)
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM or deal tracking tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Interest in deal sourcing, investment strategy, and capital markets
